Rare Victorian Bolt Clasp 18K Gold 1874

$300.00
Sold

Please read the whole caption (I love you guys, but you have a tendency not to do that) <3

So this 174-year-old BIG bolt clasp (that I saved from a very old Swedish watch chain from 1874) is a very rare find. The bracelet had full hallmarks, and this one does too, but they are smudged after nearly 200 years and hard to read.

The clasp is done in 18K solid gold (3.5 grams), and all parts are original and antique. The gold has a rosy tint to it. I have placed a yellow chain next to it so you can see the difference.

Back in the 1800s, a lot of the gold had this more warm rosy color to it. It’s not the color that we call rose gold today cause it’s not at all as pink.

The clasp measures 21mm in diameter and is 32mm long with bail.

The bail is soldered (and secure), so to attach this to your chain, you either have to have two dog clips in your chain, or you have to go to your jeweler to have it soldered on to your chain.

The beautiful clasp can hold all of your lovely little charms, or you can wear it without.

The clasp is in excellent working condition with average age-related wear. The spring could benefit from some lubrication to make it go more smoothly. Right now, there is some resistance, but it will open up 3/4 of the way.

The price is 300 USD. The sale is final.

EU buyers, please contact me before purchasing.
